Amir Sherif Appointed CEO of AlBaraka Capital

Cairo, January 2026:

AlBaraka Capital, the investment arm of Al Baraka Bank Egypt, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Amir Sherif as its new Chief Executive Officer.

Mr. Sherif brings extensive experience in building and strengthening institutional frameworks for capital markets. He has a proven track record in designing efficient capital structures, establishing multi-asset investment platforms, and delivering Shariah-compliant financing solutions.

Prior to joining AlBaraka Capital, Mr. Sherif served as CEO of the Debt Capital Markets sector at Al Ahly Pharos. He also held several leadership roles within Al Ahly Group, focusing on Sukuk and Securitization. Earlier in his career, he spent over a decade at Banque Misr Group, playing a key role in leading investment banking activities and executing high-profile transactions.

Mr. Sherif’s appointment will contribute to reinforcing AlBaraka Capital’s strategy to diversify its investment offerings, enhance its contribution to the development of Egypt’s capital markets, and deliver sustainable value to clients, in line with Al Baraka Bank’s vision for growth and expansion in the Egyptian marke t .
